Apesar do clima entre Flamengo e Vasco ter sido quente nas redes sociais nos últimos dias, este fator não se repetiu entre os torcedores que chegaram ao Maracanã para acompanhar a final do Campeonato Carioca. O entorno do estádio foi marcado por festa, músicas e nenhum conflito.

Mandante da partida e com vantagem de 2 a 0 construída na primeira partida, disputada no Estádio Nilton Santos, era possível encontrar um número grande de flamenguistas no estádio. Nas arquibancadas, pessoas vestindo vermelho e preto, por consequência, eram a maioria.

Apesar de estar em menor número, a torcida do Vasco também fez uma festa digna do tamanho da instituição. No Bar dos Esportes, localizado na Rua Eurico Rabelo, foi possível encontrar torcedores do Cruz-Maltino. Entre eles, o sentimento era apenas um: que a equipe comandada por Alberto Valentim fosse o “time da virada”, assim como era possível ouvir nas canções.

A torcida do Flamengo conseguiu entrar no estádio sem problemas e fez uma festa com uma espécie de “mosaico duplo”, alternando de cor. Pelo lado dos vascaínos, alguns torcedores tiveram problemas em trocar ingressos e as filas na bilheteria 2, destinada ao Cruz-Maltino, eram grandes perto do começo da partida.

The USA Cricket Association announced on Tuesday that its 2014 National Championship will be broadcast live on ESPN3. The tournament is scheduled be to played in the Twenty20 format from August 21-24 at a new facility scheduled to be opened this summer in Indianapolis, Indiana. It will be the first USACA National Tournament involving teams from the eight USACA Regions since 2011. It will be the first time that USACA will have live broadcast coverage for one of its domestic tournaments.”2014 will be an exciting year for US cricket and the agreement with ESPN3 is a positive start. The US cricketing scene will receive a boost by not only having the chance to play on the brand new Worlds Sports Park in Indianapolis including a new turf pitch, but to follow the lead-up to the Championships starting in May,” said Darren Beazley, CEO, USACA. “By working closely with ESPN3, we hope that the Finals on August 24 will draw a significant audience across a number of platforms.””Fans have come to know ESPN3 as a leading destination for live cricket events in the US,” said Todd Myers, Director of Programming and Acquisitions, ESPN. “By carrying the US National Cricket Championships, we hope to continue to grow the sport by giving it national exposure across a variety of accessible platforms.”USACA is planning on using the tournament as a selection mechanism for the annual Auty Cup series against Canada, which is scheduled to be played in the USA in September, as well as for selection for the next ICC World Cricket League Division Three 50-over tournament, which is due to be played in early 2015. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan and Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi heard the arguments on Tuesday and will issue an order later this week.Siddiqui’s original order had called for drastic changes in the PCB – it questioned the appointment of the selection committee as well as its financial and recruitment affairs – and brought the board’s administration to a standstill. The judge had ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to carry out elections for PCB chairman, directed the federal government to appoint a District Management Group (DMG) officer as the PCB secretary, and also reduced the powers of the president of Pakistan, making the Prime Minister the new patron of the PCB.The court had earlier suspended the elected chairman Zaka Ashraf and questioned the legality of his election, calling the process “dubious” and “polluted”. Sethi had been appointed interim chairman until his powers were also eventually clipped.The PCB appealed against Siddiqui’s judgment, claiming the election could not be carried out because electoral collage of regional associations was incomplete. They argued that the board has its own constitution, according to which chairman has been nominated by the patron, a practice that has been followed for decades.Ashraf’s lawyer said to the bench that the government of Pakistan and the ICC had endorsed Ashraf’s election, and that he should be reinstated as PCB chairman.

Two wickets fell quickly, prompting Shamsur to go on the offensive. He hooked Alauddin Babu for his first six of the morning, and quickly moved past the 250-mark in the next over with a single off Mashrafe Mortaza.He moved past Mohammad Ashraful’s 263 with his third six of the morning, a slam over mid-on off Mashrafe. But off the next ball, on 267, he hooked one to Nafees Iqbal at deep square leg. He struck 10 sixes and 27 fours in an innings spanning six hours and 49 minutes. Soon after he fell, Central Zone were bowled out for 475, taking a lead of 172.East Zone replied well, with Nazimuddin and Nafees adding 163 for the opening wicket. They batted steadily until Nafees fell to Arafat Sunny for 63. Nazimuddin hurt his left leg while completing a single to move to 97, having to retire hurt after batting 155 deliveries to hit 10 fours and three sixes. He is set to bat on the final day.Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque batted out the rest of the day as they went to stumps at 234 for 1, leading by 62 runs.North Zone are in a better position in the other game, progressing against South Zone at the BKSP-3 ground. ‘Eu sou um atleta que trabalho muito com projetos, coisas que estarão agregando na minha vida profissional. Além de tudo, tem pessoas aqui que vão querer colher frutos, agradeço à diretoria pela forma como foi passada para mim, claro que houve um pouco de restrições do Bahia, dos torcedores, foi uma forma que as pessoas me acolheram muito bem, mas eu digo que nós temos que continuar nossas carreiras, somos profissionais e eu espero estar deixando boas imagens por onde estiver passando. No Bahia não foi diferente e aqui não vai ser porque eu falo que a gente tem que deixar algo pelo clube, como, por exemplo, título, boa imagem’, declarou na coletiva de imprensa.

Já Maranhão relembrou que no começo do ano teve a oportunidade de vestir a camisa do CSA, mas as negociações não avançaram. Agora, ele está disposto a ajudar o Azulão dentro de campo e manter o time na elite do futebol nacional.

‘No começo do ano, a gente estava negociando com o CSA, não deu certo, eu conversei com a minha esposa e disse que a gente tem que dar honra a quem dá honra pra gente. Eu vim para ajudar a equipe e creio que vou fazer um grande campeonato com o CSA porque o grupo é muito unido’, afirmou.
