أعرب كريستيان إريكسن، لاعب منتخب الدنمارك، عن خيبة أمله الشديدة بعد خروجه من بطولة كأس العالم قطر 2022 على يد منتخب أستراليا.

وتلاقى المنتخبان مساء اليوم في الجولة الثالثة والأخيرة من دور مجموعات البطولة، حيث خسرت الدنمارك بهدف دون رد.

وقال إريكسن في تصريحات بعد المباراة: “إنها خيبة أمل كبيرة، إنه شعور مرير للغاية، إنه أمر مخيب للآمال، أعتقد أن هذا هو الشيء الأساسي الآن”.

وأضاف: “أعتقد أيضًا أننا قد تطورنا بشكل جيد بعد أول مباراتين، لكننا لم نصل إلى مستوى الذروة لدينا، نحصل على الكثير من الفرص ونتحرك جيدًا أيضًا، إنه لأمر مرير أننا لا نسجل”.

وواصل: “أعتقد أننا ظهرنا متعبين بعض الشيء في نهاية الشوط الأول، وبعد ذلك سجل الخصم من الفرصة الوحيدة المتاحة له”.

وسُئل إريكسن بعد ذلك عما إذا كان نقص الطاقة في اللعبة الدنماركية يمكن تفسيره من خلال حقيقة أن اللاعبين مرهقون بعد موسم طويل ومكثف.

واستكمل: “كنا نود أن نعطي انطباعًا أفضل، نقطة واحدة بعد ثلاث مباريات، ثم علينا أن نقول إنه لم يصنع أي منا الشيء الكبير”.

ثم سُئل كريستيان إريكسن عما قيل في غرفة الملابس بعد الخروج المخيب للآمال، حيث أوضح: “قلنا بعض الأشياء لكننا نحتفظ بذلك لأنفسنا”.
