كشف جناح الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي بايرن ميونخ، ساديو ماني، عن أصعب لحظة عاشها في بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021 الأخيرة والتي أقيمت في “الكاميرون” مع منتخب السنغال.

وتوج ماني مع السنغال باللقب الأول لبطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا بعد الفوز على مصر وزميله السابق في ليفربول، محمد صلاح، في النهائي في شهر فبراير الماضي بركلات الجزاء الترجيحية.

وكان ماني قد تعرض لإصابة في الرأس بعد التحام مع حارس الرأس الأخضر في مرحلة دور الـ 16 وخرج في نهاية المباراة، وكان من المفترض ألا يشارك أمام غينيا الاستوائية في دور الثمانية، لكنه أجبر الجميع على المشاركة.

وتحدث السنغالي عن اللحظة الأصعب خلال حواره مع شبكة “Pro Direct Soccer France” الفرنسية، وقال: “إصابتي في مباراة الرأس الأخضر كانت اللحظة الأصعب في تلك البطولة”.

وتابع: “كان الجهاز الطبي والفني لا يرغبان في مشاركتي، لكنني أردت اللعب، تواصلت مع المدرب وأخبرته أن ما قاله لي الطبيب غير مقبول بالنسبة لي”.

وأضاف: “أجبرت نفسي على المشاركة في المباريات، كنت لأموت من أجل أمم إفريقيا، أخبرتهم أنه يمكنني التوقيع على ورقة بأنني مسئول عن أي شيء يحدث لي”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “إذا مت سأقول بتلك الورقة إن هذا هو خطأي”.

West Ham star Michail Antonio has been announced as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for August.

وتشير التقارير الصحفية إلى أن اتحاد جدة يتفاوض مع حجازي من أجل تمديد التعاقد مع المدافع المخضرم لموسمين آخرين بجانب السنة المتبقية في عقده.

وكان حجازي انضم للاتحاد في صيف 2020 قادما من ويست بروميتش ألبيون الإنجليزي لمدة موسم واحد على سبيل الإعارة وقررت إدارة العميد في صيف 2021 تحويل الإعارة إلى شراء بصفة نهائية.

Spinner Ajantha Mendis has joined Sri Lanka’s Test squad in Dhaka after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained in a domestic first-class match earlier this month. “My ankle is alright now and I am not feeling any pain,” he told reporters on his arrival.Mendis, who picked up 26 wickets in his debut three-Test series against India, was replaced by left-arm spinner Rangana Herath for the Bangladesh Tests after he was expected to be out of action for three to four weeks. Mendis had suffered severe soft tissue damage in his right ankle while playing for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club against Tamil Union – his first domestic game this season.He is expected to return to Sri Lanka’s line-up for the second Test, which begins in Chittagong on January 3. Sri Lanka are poised for a 1-0 lead in the series, having amassed a 406-run lead in their second innings of the first Test. There are two days remaining in the Test, which had Tuesday pencilled in a rest day – unusual in recent years – due to the parliamentary elections in Bangladesh.Following the Tests, Sri Lanka will play a triangular one-day tournament also involving Zimbabwe, which starts on January 10. Mendis, who has 48 wickets from 18 ODIs, is likely to become the quickest to 50 wickets – Ajit Agarkar currently holds the record, having reached the milestone in his 23rd match.

Celtic announced on Friday evening that midfielder Luca Connell has joined Queen’s Park on loan.

Reliable journalist Mike McGrath shared reports that the 20-year-old was set to return to the League One side, and a season-long loan deal has now been confirmed by both clubs.

The Irishman spent part of last season on loan with Queen’s Park, and he will now have the chance to gain more senior experience in Scotland.
