The supporters of Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to endure a significantly better Premier League campaign this time around, after their struggles were evident in the 2024/25 season.
Ange Postecoglou could only lead the Lilywhites to a 17th-placed finish, losing 22 outings, which ultimately led to the Aussie being sacked by owner Daniel Levy.
The responsibility of turning things around in England’s top-flight now falls into the hands of Thomas Frank, after the Dane left Brentford to take the reins.
He’s already been backed in the transfer market by the board, after Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus arrived on permanent deals, with Joao Palhinha linking up on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.
However, despite the new season getting underway in recent days, the transfer window still remains open, handing the new boss added time to make the desired additions he wants in forward areas.

The latest on Spurs' hunt for new attackers this summer
Eberechi Eze has been the player most strongly linked with a move to Spurs this summer, with talks even being held with Crystal Palace over a move for the England international.
It’s also been reported that the player himself is also keen on a switch across the capital, but it remains unclear whether the hierarchy are willing to pay his £60m asking price.
Crystal Palace's EberechiEze
However, a new name has entered the mix over recent days, with the Daily Mail reporting that Frank is keen on securing a move for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.
They claim that the Lilywhites are closely monitoring a deal for the 23-year-old, who registered 27 goal contributions for Unai Emery’s men last campaign.
It also states that the Villans don’t want to offload their attacking star this window, but may have to cash in on him in the coming weeks to satisfy their current PSR standing. It’s been reported this summer that Villa view him as a £100m talent.
Why Spurs’ latest target is a bigger talent than Eze
There’s no denying that Eze is an excellent talent, and one that would be a superb signing, as seen by his record of 16 combined goals and assists in the Premier League throughout 2024/25.
He registered two goals and an assist in his two league outings against the Lilywhites, demonstrating to the fanbase first-hand the quality he possesses in front of goal.
Their pursuit of his signature highlights the ambition of the board this summer, looking to back the new manager in his quest for success in North London.
However, it would be a huge investment, splashing around £60m on a 27-year-old, which could certainly restrict them from any sell-on given the fact he’s entering the back end of his professional career.
Such an issue wouldn’t be apparent with a potential move for Rogers, with the Villa star four years younger than the Palace talent – whilst also having the potential to get even better in the years ahead.
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers
Despite his tender age, the former Manchester City youngster has managed to outperform Eze in recent months, offering Frank a better addition for the immediate and long-term future.
Rogers, who’s been dubbed “phenomenal” by Lee Hendrie, notched more goal contributions in the Premier League, whilst also posting a better shot-on-target accuracy rate.

Both components of his game highlight the added threat he carries in front of goal, having the individual quality to add further goals to the Lilywhites’ frontline.
However, he’s also showcased his creative nature, completing more passes into the final third, whilst also posting more progressive passes per 90 – able to find the likes of Kudus and Tel and allowing them to enjoy a season to remember in 2025/26.
There’s no doubt, given his higher levels of performance, coupled with his youthful years, a deal for Rogers will likely be more expensive than a move for Eze.
Added funds may need to be produced by the board if they are to sign the 23-year-old, but it could also prove to be a shrewd investment if he can build on his time in the West Midlands.
If the side are to make the jump back up the table and become a force to be reckoned with in England’s top-flight, top-quality additions are needed, with Rogers offering just that should he move to North London.

Lancashire secure India tie-up they desired in latest stage of the ECB’s Hundred equity sale

Roller: Hundred equity sales a success for the ECB
Lancashire have secured the IPL partner they wanted to run Manchester Originals as a joint venture, with Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG Group submitting the highest bid for a stake in the Hundred franchise on Monday.RPSG Group, who own Lucknow Super Giants, were the losing bidders in a three-hour auction for a stake in London Spirit on Friday, which was eventually won by a Silicon Valley tech consortium valuing the Lord’s-based franchise at £295 million. But RPSG Group have now secured a stake which values the Manchester-based Hundred team at above £100m, understood to be around £116m.The two parties will now enter into an eight-week period of exclusivity in which they will discuss the exact terms of the deal. Lancashire have previously suggested to members that they are open to a discussion about selling some of their 51% stake in Originals if the price is high enough that it enables them to pay down a significant proportion of their bank debt.Related

Lancashire want IPL link for Manchester Originals
The club declined to confirm on Monday night* whether RPSG Group are buying anything more than the ECB’s 49% stake in the Originals, though ESPNcricinfo understands that Lancashire told prospective investors that they were willing to part with up to 70% of the overall shares during talks earlier in the sales process.Lancashire confirmed the news in a statement on Monday afternoon. “We have been very focused on securing a great partner – ideally from the IPL – and RPSG has been our preferred bidder for some time,” the club said.”We are delighted by the outcome and look forward to working together to create an exciting future. Together, we have a shared ambition to create a very special cricket team for the people of Manchester and the wider North West region.”ESPNcricinfo first revealed last August that officials from RPSG Group had visited Emirates Old Trafford, with Lancashire chief executive Daniel Gidney making clear in an interview his desire to work with an IPL franchise. Lancashire’s initial shortlist also included Mumbai Indians owners Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), who dropped out of the bidding for Originals after securing a stake in Oval Invincibles last week.Lancashire have actively grown their profile in India in recent years with a deliberate strategy that has included men’s and women’s pre-season tours and signing Indian internationals Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar and Venkatesh Iyer as overseas players. They are set to return to India next month as part of a pre-season tour.Sanjiv Goenka, pictured celebrating with Marcus Stoinis, is the chairman and founder of RPSG Group•Sportzpics
Goenka, the chairman and founder of business conglomerate RPSG Group, paid INR 7090 crore (£680m approx. at the time) to buy the Lucknow IPL franchise in 2021. He bought the Durban franchise in the SA20 the following year, and previously owned Rising Pune Supergiant. RPSG were involved in the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons, while Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were suspended.Lancashire will hold a members’ forum next Wednesday. “Key items on the agenda will include details of our partnership with the RPSG Group, the projected financial outcome for Lancashire Cricket and the potential use of the funds generated,” the club said. “The investment remains subject to a satisfactory conclusion of the final due diligence and legal processes and a further announcement will be made in due course.”The deal makes RPSG Group the second IPL owners to buy a stake in a Hundred team, after Reliance. Sun Group, the owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad, are understood to be interested in both Northern Superchargers and Trent Rockets, while GMR Group, the co-owners of Delhi Capitals, are widely expected to secure a stake in Southern Brave, having bought host county Hampshire outright last year.ESPNcricinfo understands that RPSG Group were pitted against two other competitors on Monday, prompting a live auction. One of these was an investor who has struck a partnership with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while the identity of the third bidder could not be confirmed on Monday night. The sales processes for Superchargers and Rockets were initially scheduled for Monday but are understood to have been delayed slightly, with some losing bidders from previous sales considering entering the running for another team. The sale of a stake in Brave will round out the process.*2100 GMT – This story was updated to reflect Lancashire’s statement and to note the identity of one losing bidder

Voltou a trabalhar normalmente nesta manhã.
O provável Tricolor vem com Rafael; Rafinha, Arboleda, Beraldo e Caio; Pablo Maia, Gabriel Neves e Michel Araujo (Marcos Paulo); Alisson, Luciano (Wellington Rato) e Calleri.

While they might not always be the biggest spenders, Arsenal have made some huge signings over the years.
For example, Viktor Gyokeres’ arrival earlier this summer felt like it could be a needle mover; Declan Rice, a couple of years ago, was, and then, while he didn’t cost as much, Alexis Sanchez was a real coup when he joined.
However, when it comes to headline-grabbing transfers, none can claim the top spot off of Mesut Özil, as his arrival in 2013 is still one of the most memorable moments in the club’s modern history.
So, fans should be delighted that it now looks like Mikel Arteta is about to sign his own Ozil.
Arsenal target their new Özil
So far, it would be fair to say that Arsenal are having a great summer regarding transfers, as so far, new Sporting Director Andrea Berta has made six first-team additions.
Transfer Focus
Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.
Moreover, while the Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi are the most exciting signings thus far, the Italian has made sure to fill in the gaps in the rest of the squad, with the likes of Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard and Cristhian Mosquera.
However, instead of calling it quits there, the club now look set to make potentially the most exciting signing yet, one that could be seen as Arteta’s Ozil moment.
At least that is according to a recent report from The Standard’s Dom Smith, who has reaffirmed the news that Arsenal are now in pole position to secure Eberechi Eze.
In fact, Smith has revealed that the club-to-club details are “all agreed” and that the Crystal Palace star, who is an Arsenal fan, is now set to have his medical and sign his contract at some point on Friday, despite looking set to join North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday afternoon.
Having previously been in the Gunners academy until he was 13, at which point he was released, this is quite the sequence of events for a player who loves Arsenal.
It looks like the Englishman will cost Arsenal around £60m, and while that is a lot, it’s probably fair value for someone as talented as Eze, especially as he could be Arteta’s Ozil.
Why Eze could be the next Ozil
While fans will be hoping Eze’s Arsenal career ends in a better way than Ozil’s did, there are some significant similarities between them.
The first one relates to their transfers, as, despite being a world-class player at the time, fans had little to no idea that the German was moving to the Emirates until it was announced outside the stadium on Sky Sports News, much to the delight of the delirious fans that had gathered around the reporter to hear the news.
Now, the Crystal Palace star hasn’t officially been announced yet, but there was a similar euphoric reaction from the fans to David Ornstein’s surprise report that the club were after him last night.
That delirium was only intensified by Fabrizio Romano’s ‘here we go’ and the simple fact that Berta and Co look to have successfully hijacked the international star from Spurs.
On top of the nature of the transfer being similar to the former Real Madrid star’s, there is also a similar sense that the 27-year-old has the talent to be just as much of a game-changer for the Gunners.

For example, despite playing for a mid-table side last season, the Greenwich-born “magician,” as dubbed by Micah Richards, scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 43 appearances, totalling just 3303 minutes.
In other words, the £100k-per-week superstar managed to maintain an average of a goal involvement every 1.72 games, or every 132.12 minutes.
That’s not all though, as the former QPR gem has also proven he can handle the biggest games and the biggest stages, as he scored in the quarter-final, semi-final and final of Palace’s triumphant FA Cup run last season.
Ultimately, while he isn’t the exact same type of player, the incredible way in which Arsenal secured his signature and the impact he could have on this team mean Eze could be seen as Arteta’s Ozil.

Newcastle United had little choice but to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool on deadline day, with the rebel striker having agitated to leave throughout the summer transfer window.
Having banked a British record £130m fee for the Sweden striker, the Premier League challengers can now turn their attention toward the football, for it’s been clear that the noise has disrupted early-season preparations, just two points from three opening fixtures.
Newcastle United manager EddieHowebefore the match
Eddie Howe must be frustrated by the whole ordeal, but he and his team have quietly gone about their business these past few months, with the summer dealings coming to something of a pleasing head.
Indeed, the Magpies may well have replaced the irreplaceable.
How Newcastle have replaced Isak
Many strikers were targeted this summer, and it took a long while before Newcastle found a breakthrough in their protracted pursuit, signing Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart last week for a club-record £69m fee.
The German international is only 23, but he scored 12 goals from 17 starts in the Bundesliga last season and drew praise for his silky movements and technical control on the ball. European football expert Zach Lowy remarked his depth of quality is “absolutely ridiculous”.
He might take a bit of time to get up to speed, but Woltemade has the potential to serve as Isak did, playing for Howe as a world-class option.
And with a prolific and Prem-proven dance partner in Yoane Wissa jockeying for purchase alongside him, Howe might just find that he has the tools to replace Isak’s 27-goal return across the past campaign in the aggregate.
Especially when considering that the Toon Academy has come on leaps and bounds. Not just welcoming top talents from the youth ranks, Newcastle are also targeting and winning battles for some of Europe’s most coveted youngsters, and one such prospect could be their new version of Isak.
Newcastle's new version of Isak
One of Howe’s biggest strengths is his capacity to take talented up-and-comers and shape them into top Premier League players, and Isak has been the perfect example of that.
He might be gone, but Vakhtang Salia could be Newcastle’s next superstar, with United having beaten off competition from teams such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to sign him from Dinamo Tbilisi last month, a deal agreed a year prior. Such vast interest from Europe’s elite only demonstrates the immense potential gracing Salia’s game.
Like Isak, the 18-year-old Georgian is tactically dynamic, and while he hasn’t refined his shooting ability yet, he has been praised for his “very high work-rate” by Genk scout Mikha Gabechava.
With pace and technical skill, he has often found a role out on the left, something Isak has done efficiently when called upon at Newcastle.

Still finding his way after a month getting into gear at St. James’ Park, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Salia handed some first-team minutes across the campaign, especially with Isak having been sold.
It might be a touch premature to start listing this teenager as the next version of the Sweden international, but Howe and Newcastle have the perfect grounds to shape him into a Toon-standard star.
Salia still has a long way to go, but there’s no question that he’s endowed with all the physical and technical qualities needed to succeed at Newcastle, with journalist Graeme Bailey hailing him as “one of the best teenage prospects in the world”.
He's outscoring Woltemade: Newcastle must regret selling the original Wissa
