William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are two crucial components of Arteta's formidable Arsenal side, who have challenged the imperious Man City and run them close in two successive seasons.

The centre-back pairing have impressed on-lookers while cementing themselves as mainstays at the heart of Arsenal's defence, with the north Londoners conceding fewer goals than any other team in the Premier League last season.

However, Arteta is also lacking a star alternative for when either Saliba or Gabriel succumb to injury. This has led Arsenal to scour the market for new central defensive options, and many names have been mentioned over the last few weeks.

Barcelona star Jules Kounde is attracting interest from Arsenal, amid claims the La Liga giants would be open to doing a £51 million deal if Ronald Araujo commits his future at the Camp Nou (Sport).

Kounde has actually featured at right-back since 2022/2023 and has done a solid job for Barca on that side, so perhaps the Frenchman's versatility could be very appealing to Arteta.

Meanwhile, reports have claimed Arsenal are also keen on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who has impressed for England at Euro 2024 and been one of the big positives of an otherwise mixed campaign for the Three Lions.

Of course, there is also Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, who is now a sought-after centre-back across Europe following his displays for Italy at the tournament. Real Madrid are believed to be targeting Calafiori, following his Euros campaign and a brilliant season at club level.

Arsenal's interest is backed by Fabrizio Romano, and TEAMtalk even claimed this week that Edu is expected to submit an Arsenal bid for Calafiori.

Em entrevista coletiva após o empate no Allianz Parque, Abel Ferreira afirmou que ninguém está acima dos interesses da equipe e que Dudu estaria chateado com a própria performance.

– Eu tenho que ver as imagens, mas creio que ele deve ter ficado chateado pela performance dele. Falei com meus auxiliares, acho que ele atirou as caneleiras no chão, mas, olhando o jogo que ele fez, deve estar chateado, porque sabe que pode criar e fazer mais – disse o técnico.

Ten Hag told Manchester United's official website after officially signing a new contract until June 2026: "I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.

"However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles."

With Ten Hag's future now sealed and Ashworth in post, the Red Devils have instantly turned their attention towards securing reinforcements. According to Fabrizio Romano, Matthijs de Ligt has given Manchester United the "green light" to push on with their deal to secure his services after he held personal talks with Ten Hag. United will now attempt to agree a deal with Bayern Munich to bring in the central defender.

The same can be said for Joshua Zirkzee, as per Romano, in what could result in a double signing for Manchester United as they finally get their summer business underway.

A player who rose through the ranks at Ajax to earn a move to Juventus and then Bayern Munich, De Ligt's CV speaks for itself at just 24 years old. The Dutchman now has the chance to add arguably England's biggest club in Manchester United to what is an impressive career so far and lead the Red Devils for years to come under former Ajax boss Ten Hag.

However, those at Bayern will be disappointed that things never quite worked out as planned, after former sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said when the defender first arrived: "We wanted to bring Matthijs to Munich three years ago. We were convinced of his qualities as a defender then, and we are even more so today.

"With his professionalism, his desire and his wonderful character, Matthijs fits our team as well as our ambitions. He will play an important role at Bayern on and off the pitch. He was already a leading player at Ajax as a youngster, and he is still capable of development at the high level he is at, at the age of 22."

وواصل:” تعرضت لحملة ظالمة، ومعظم الكلام الذي يُقال عني في فترة الانتقالات الصيفية أو الشتوية غير صحيح، ولا أركز في هذا الكلام”.

وأكمل: “دخلت الأهلي بطريقة جيدة، وعندما أخرج منه سيكون بنفس الصورة، أعرف ما بيني وبين النادي، وطالما أن المدرب أو الإدارة أو رئيس النادي يحتاجونني، فأنا متواجد في النادي وتحت أمرهم حتى آخر يوم في عقدي، الذي يستمر عامين بخلاف الموسم الحالي”.

واستمر: “أكثر مرة تأثرت فيها؟ في السنة الماضية، خرجت من القائمة أكثر من مرة، في وقت كان أي لاعب كرة يتمنى أن يكون متواجدًا فيه، خاصة في نصف نهائي إفريقيا والمباريات الحاسمة في الدوري”.

واسترسل: “بكيت في مباراة بلدية المحلة باستاد القاهرة، وكانت النتيجة كبيرة، ووقتها لم أشارك كثيرًا، شعرت أنها فرصة لي للمشاركة في المباراة، ولكن حدث العكس من كولر (المدير الفني)، كان ذلك رد فعلي، وموقف حدث بشكل تلقائي، فجأة وجدت نفسي أبكي”.

واستكمل: “أكثر لاعبين قريبين مني في النادي الأهلي، محمد هاني ومصطفى شوبير، تقبلت وجهات نظر كولر في عدم مشاركتي بالمباريات، واقتنعت بها إلى حد كبير”.

وأضاف: “تحقيق بطولة في منتصف الموسم يشبه الفوز بمباراة واحدة، فبعد تتويجنا بكأس السوبر في مواجهة العين، أغلقنا الصفحة مباشرة وركزنا على المباراة المقبلة، اللاعب يجب أن يكون طموحًا دائمًا ويسعى لرفع الكؤوس في كل البطولات، كنت حزينًا عندما غبت لمدة 6 مباريات وخرجت من القائمة دون سبب مقنع بالنسبة لي، وعندما سجلت هدفًا في مباراة المنتخب، شعرت بالسعادة وكأن الدنيا ابتسمت لي، وكافأني الله بهذا الهدف، كانت أول مباراة لي مع الكابتن حسام حسن، واعتبرتها مكافأة سريعة”.

واستطرد: “حاليًا، أنا غائب عن الملاعب لمدة 4 أسابيع بسبب إصابة، لم أكن أتوقع أن تكون بهذا الحجم، الإصابة غريبة بعض الشيء وموقعها مزعج فوق الركبة مباشرة، حتى الآن لم أتمكن من الجري، وسيستغرق التعافي وقتًا، لكن الأهم أن أعود سليمًا”.

I think his performance has been exceptional. Guys like Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj showed how good their temperament is. Washington Sundar was a net bowler. Natarajan was a net bowler. He [Natarajan] played one-day cricket, then T20 cricket, and got his Test debut here. And the way Washington Sundar batted, it seemed that he was a veteran of 20 Tests. The kind of temperament he showed in his partnership with Shardul Thakur…a thing to mention about Shardul, he’s been through the hard grind of first-class cricket, but he got a chance here, and he grabbed his opportunity with both hands.India’s brand of cricket: What these boys have achieved in this series is a massive feat. This is a series that we will never forget. I don’t think the cricket world will forget this series for a long time. As long as cricket is played, this series will not be forgotten. Our boys were in quarantine for six months. Some of the guys who live in metro cities weren’t even able to step out of their flats. And the only cricket they had was the IPL. Australians and New Zealanders were able to step out into parks and train June onwards. As a team, they [Australia] also played against England. Despite that, to come here and perform the way we did here is something creditable. Especially when all our main bowlers were injured.
