Eder

Na formação de Hernán Crespo, o 3-5-2, a equipe joga com uma dupla de ataque, sem utilizar pontas. Essa dupla, atualmente, é formada por Pablo e Luciano. Isso obriga os atacantes a serem mais versáteis, podendo executar uma gama maior de funções.

Sem jogadores de ataque pelos lados, embora os alas cheguem em profundidade em vários momentos, a dupla de frente tem que estar apta a jogar tanto centralizada quanto caindo pelos lados do campo, dependendo do que for exigido.

Luciano é um jogador muito acostumado a essa multiplicidade de funções. Atualmente centroavante no Tricolor, o camisa 11 já foi ponta esquerda em outros momentos da carreira e, frequentemente, recua um pouco para receber a bola e participar da criação das jogadas.

Pablo, por sua vez, vem jogando muito bem na formação de Crespo, tendo maior liberdade para se movimentar por todo o ataque. Entretanto, não executa essas funções também, além de já ter apresentado performances abaixo do esperado jogando mais centralizado. O camisa 9, portanto, tem sua posição ameaçada com a chegada de Eder, atacante brasileiro naturalizado italiano.

O ex-Inter de Milão foi uma das maiores contratações do Tricolor nesta janela e deve assumir a titularidade ao lado de Luciano, justamente por suas características casarem muito bem com o que Crespo espera de seus atacantes.

É um jogador que pode atuar centralizado, como um ‘nove clássico’, o artilheiro, mas, ao mesmo tempo, consegue transitar bem pelo campo, podendo cair pelas pontas em diversos momentos, rendendo bem por lá.

Assim, é possível ver uma dupla de ataque com muita colaboração, com Luciano e Eder servindo um ao outro em diversos momentos. Versatilidade e dinâmica, essas são as características que essa dupla de ataque pode entregar ao torcedor.

Miranda

Quanto à chegada de Miranda, é um substituição de jogador que não altera a formação, mas sim agrega qualidade à equipe. O zagueiro deve substituir Bruno Alves na posição mais centralizada do trio de defesa, ou até mesmo Arboleda, pela direita.

Com Miranda, o time ganha maior poder defensivo, além de maior qualidade na saída de bola.

Orejuela

Com a mudança de formação para o 3-5-2, o São Paulo abdicou do uso de laterais, contando na verdadecom alas, que jogam pelas beiradas do campo. No momento, os donos dos setores do Tricolor são Reinaldo (pela esquerda) e Igor Vinícius (pela direita). Entretanto, uma das contratações pode mudar essa escalação, o colombiano Orejuela.

Lateral direito de origem, com muita velocidade e muita ofensividade, Orejuela deve cair como uma luva no estilo de jogo de Crespo. Isso porque, com o esquema de três zagueiros, os alas têm liberdade total para subir ao ataque na fase ofensiva, pois a linha de defesa é numerosa o suficiente para conter possíveis contra-ataques.

Desta forma, é normal ver, no atual time do São Paulo, os alas ganhando profundidade no campo, transformando-se em pontas em vários momentos. Reinaldo e Igor Vinícius são jogadores que, frequentemente, se envolvem nas jogadas de ataque do time. Reinaldo, por exemplo, tem um total de 23 cruzamentos nas quatro partidas em que jogou na função de ala.

Essa ofensividade pode ser observada, por exemplo, nos mapas de calor de Igor Vinícius e Reinaldo.

Assim, Orejuela pode se encaixar perfeitamente no lado direito do campo, substituindo Igor Vinícius. O próprio colombiano já falou, em sua apresentação, sobre preferir jogar no ataque, tendo funções mais ofensivas na equipe.

– Sim, eu estou acostumado a jogar de lateral, mas se o professor pedir para eu jogar de ponta, eu faço também. Eu gosto sempre de atacar, de ajudar o time para ir para frente. Então, o que o professor me pedir, vou fazer, para o bem da equipe – comentou Orejuela.

Benítez

Quanto ao argentino Martín Benítez, há uma possibilidade de ajudar a equipe com mais de uma função. O meia trabalha bem tanto como um articulador das jogadas, mais presente no campo de ataque, como pode funcionar como um jogador para iniciar as jogadas, buscando a bola no campo de defesa para sair ao ataque, em progressão.

No Vasco de Luxemburgo, já no final da temporada passada, Benítez fez boas partidas atuando justamente como um meia que subia ao ataque trocando passes. No São Paulo, ao lado de Daniel Alves e dos alas, o argentino conseguiria criar com eficiência, tendo bons companheiros para participar da criação.

Com um bom esquema tático e reforços que traduzem o estilo de jogo do treinador Hernán Crespo, o São Paulo monta seu elenco para a temporada de 2021. Ainda é possível que mais nomes sejam contratados, embora o presidente Julio Casares já tenha comunicado que, em respeito às finanças do clube, alguns possíveis reforços que foram especulados, como Gabriel Neves, Borré e Kanu, não devem fechar com o Tricolor.

A failure to reinstate the board could result in the termination of Zimbabwe’s ICC membership, the governing body says in its written communication

The ICC has written to Zimbabwe Cricket to formalise the results of last week’s board meeting in London, instructing ZC to “unconditionally” reinstate the board elected in June or risk “termination” of their membership.Representatives of both the interim committee, put in place to manage cricket in Zimbabwe by the country’s Sports and Recreation Commission, and ZC were heard at the ICC’s meeting, after which it was unanimously decided to suspend Zimbabwe’s ICC membership. The formal communication between ICC chief executive Manu Sawhney and ZC chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani doubles down on the ICC’s heavy-handed response, warning of the dire consequences of non-compliance.”Should you wish the ICC to reconsider your suspension, you are required to take all relevant steps to ensure that the Board of Zimbabwe Cricket elected on 14 June 2019 is unconditionally reinstated forthwith and, in any event, no later than 8 October 2019 so that the ICC Board can review the matter when it convenes on 12 October 2019 for its next meeting,” the letter reads. “You are also required to provide satisfactory evidence to ensure that the Zimbabwe Cricket will administer its affairs free of external interference and influence.”The timeline put forward in the letter for a possible end to Zimbabwe’s suspension appears to rule out any chance that either the women’s or men’s teams will be able to take part in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers later this year, or that there will be any cricket at all played by Zimbabwean teams before mid-October at the earliest.”Should the ICC not receive a satisfactory response from you on the above terms, within the stipulated timeframe, the ICC reserves its right to take such further action as it deems appropriate including to proceed by way of termination of your membership as provided for in the Articles of Association,” the letter concludes.The ICC’s latest correspondence also outlines the official reasons for their response to the squabble between the ousted ZC board and the SRC, referring specifically Article 2.4 of the ICC’s Constitution. The actions of the SRC in suspending the ZC board were found to be in breach of sections (D) and (E) of Article 2.4, which cover “government (or other public or quasi-public body) interference”, and the obligations of Full Members.The letter also reminded ZC of the terms of Zimbabwe’s current suspension: that ZC is “deprived of all its rights as a member”, shall not receive any ICC revenue, participate in ICC events “or Cricket sanctioned by the ICC” and will not be able to attend or vote at any meetings.

Amad Diallo's start to life in Manchester

Ivorian wonderkid Amad Diallo announced himself to the world as a 17-year-old for Atalanta in 2019, coming off the bench to score on his debut in a 7-1 win over Udinese.

In January 2021, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally got his man, as United secured the signature of the young winger in a whopping £37m deal, despite only playing five games for Atalanta's first team.

He immediately joined the academy upon his arrival, where he proved to be levels above those both on his team and the opposition, scoring twice against Liverpool U21s and registering four goal contributions against Blackburn Rovers U21s.

Amad's first real taste of action at United came in the Europa League against AC Milan, when he replaced Anthony Martial at halftime to take on a false nine role. Just minutes after his introduction, he already had the ball in the back of the net after making a darting run in behind and finishing with an excellent instinctive header.

Unfortunately, this has been the pinnacle of his United career so far.

Amad Diallo's record in 2024

The 5 foot 8 gem's first loan spell away from the Red Devils was to Rangers, yet that move wasn't exactly successful, with Diallo starting just four league games and featuring on the bench in every game on their run to the Europa League final.

Luckily, his second loan spell was far more fruitful, as last season he was one of the most influential players in the Championship, where he was dubbed "unplayable" by journalist Graham Falk. His time at Sunderland ended with a record of 13 goals and three assists in 27 league starts.

The left-footed whizz has seen his development and momentum from last season come to a complete stop, with an injury in pre-season keeping him out of action until December, and since then, Ten Hag has prevented him from going out on loan for the rest of the season. The former Black Cats ace has played just 36 minutes all campaign.

To this day, Diallo is still regarded as one of the most exciting talents at the club, and if it weren't for Alejandro Garnacho arguably being one of their most dangerous players in the team and playing in the 21-year-old's position, he may have had more chances to work his magic on the field.

However, his lack of action in the United first team has caused his value to drop significantly, with the gem now estimated to be worth around £4m, according to CIES Football Observatory, which is £33m less than what Solskjaer and co paid for him in 2021.

Although United did massively overpay for Diallo, he is still an exciting prospect with bags of potential. All he needs is an opportunity to showcase what he's really about.

If not, it looks set to be another expensive mistake of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Embora o placar tenha sido elástico, o primeiro tempo mostrou equilíbrio entre as equipes que disputavam a partida no Estádio Luso-Brasileiro. Assim, com mais intensidade no início do jogo, logo aos seis minutos Rafael Carioca recebeu na pequena área e empurrou para abrir o placar.

Entretanto, a Portuguesa conseguiu reagir ainda na primeira etapa. Com isso, aos 44, foi a vez de Jhulliam aproveitar o cruzamento e emendar uma meia bicicleta para deixar tudo igual.

A virada, no entanto, ocorreu aos 24 do segundo tempo, após Everton Heleno invadir a área e bater forte, de perna direita, no canto do goleiro. Dessa forma, o volume de jogo fez com que a Lusa ampliasse o placar 10 minutos depois, aos 34. Logo, depois de boa trama no canto direito, Emerson Carioca recebeu na pequena área e fez o 3 a 1.

Já pro fim da partida, aos 44, Robert veio de trás e acertou um lindo chute de primeira para transformar o placar em goleada e, apenas um minuto depois, Mauro Silva também marcou para dar números finais a partida.

A equipe visitante começou melhor o confronto e, já aos 11 minutos, abriu o marcador. Assim, com as linhas muito espaçadas, o Macaé deixou espaço e Jean Deretti finalizou bem, de fora da área, para fazer o 1 a 0.

Porém, aos 10 da etapa final, o zagueiro Dante aproveitou cruzamento vindo do lado esquerdo e, como um 9, cabeceou forte, no canto, e deixou tudo igual. No entanto, 20 minutos depois, foi a vez de Igor Bolt ganhar do próprio Dante na corrida e, novamente, colocar o Resende na frente. Já nos acréscimos o atacante Nunes ainda foi bem para concluir o placar: Macaé 1 x 3 Resende.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has appointed former Mumbai batsman Amol Muzumdar as batting coach for South Africa’s three-match Test series against India, which starts on October 2 in Visakhapatnam.The 44-year-old last played at the first-class level for Andhra in 2013 and has since held several coaching positions, besides being a TV commentator. Because, at the moment, India have a potent bowling attack. Their entire bowling attack is a good one and it will be a challenge and we will have to come up with the plans.”As for the personal challenge of settling down quickly in the South African dressing room, Muzumdar was more confident. “Having played first-class cricket for 21 and years and a major part of it for a champion team (Mumbai), I know what a team environment requires and how champion teams operate. It won’t be easy, but I will accept the challenge.”Despite ending his career as the second-highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy, Muzumdar never played for India. A contemporary of Sachin Tendulkar [both of them were coached by the late Ramakant Achrekar], Muzumdar won the Ranji title eight times with Mumbai including once as captain, in 2006-07.Muzumdar holds high-performance coaching certificates from the BCCI, Cricket Australia as well as in the UK through both Lancashire and Yorkshire, also was the batting consultant with Cricket Netherlands between 2013-15. He has been batting coach for Rajasthan Royals at the IPL, coached India’s Under-19 and Under-23 sides at the National Cricket Academy, and was briefly a batting consultant for the Netherlands men’s team. He had applied to be India’s batting coach earlier this year but couldn’t make the shortlist.Muzumdar now joins a select group of Indians who have worked with other international teams in recent years, such as Sridharan Sriram (currently with Australia men’s team), Sunil Joshi (spin consultant with Bangladesh men’s team till recently), Wasim Jaffer (part of the coaching staff at the Bangladesh High Performance Centre) and Lalchand Rajput (worked as head coach of Zimbabwe and Afghanistan men’s teams).

O presidente do Tricolor falou sobre o acordo de um esquema de pagamento para quitar o valor devido pelo clube aos atletas pelos cortes nos salários feitos durante a pandemia de Covid-19 no ano passado, na administração de Carlos Augusto Barros e Silva, o Leco.

O acordo com os jogadores foi definido por Julio Casares como um tipo de ‘sociedade’ entre o clube e os atletas. Assim, o time destinaria parte de seus ganhos ao pagamento do montante que deve.

– Nós fizemos um planejamento, houve, sim, uma conversa com os atletas, capitaneada pelo Belmonte, pelo Rui, pelo Muricy, pelo Nelsinho e Fernando Bracalle, com todos os atletas, e eles sentiram a transparência. Nós temos uma dívida de um acordo, que a antiga gestão fez, em razão da pandemia, sobre o direito de imagem dos atletas. De janeiro para cá, está tudo em dia, CLT e imagem. Esse atrasado, nós fizemos uma proposta, nós abrimos para os atletas para que eles sejam nossos sócios em futuras receitas – disse o presidente.

Nesse esquema, os atletas passam a receber parte dos ganhos do clube.

– Quando voltar bilheteria, um percentual vai para esse bolsão de pendências, quando firmarmos um contrato com novos patrocínios, um percentual x também vai para ser liquidado esse bolsão de pendências. Quando vendermos um jogador para o exterior ou tivermos o benefício da solidariedade de jogador que está fora e, portanto, pode ser transferido e o São Paulo ter uma receita, esse percentual também vai para os atletas. Fizemos esse acordo com os atletas, e eles gostaram muito – explicou Julio Casares.

O presidente do clube comentou, ainda, sobre as dívidas que o clube tem a pagar e os trabalhos já realizados para quitá-las. O São Paulo possui, atualmente, uma dívida total de cerca de R$ 660 milhões e, buscando maior capital para pagar os débitos, conseguiu reduzir gastos em 10% no primeiro trimestre de 2021.

– O que assumimos de dívida está presente no balanço, principalmente de dívidas a curto prazo, algumas na Fifa, que nos preocupam mais. O São Paulo teve que trabalhar olhando para o campo e de forma técnica. Conversamos e propusemos algo aos credores. Algumas dívidas quitamos, até pelo caráter emergencial. Logo no primeiro trimestre, acertamos uma diminuição de custos de 10% das nossas despesas. Isso é importante, porque desafoga o produto fim, que é o futebol. Vamos aguardar o patrocínio para valorizar a marca. Para valorizar, você tem que recomeçar, zerar e reiniciar grandes negociações. Em paralelo, fizemos uma engenharia financeira para manter um time competitivo – comentou Casares.

O executivo do Tricolor fez questão de reafirmar, ainda, o compromisso do clube com seu quadro financeiro, com a transparência e o pagamento das dívidas.

– O São Paulo vai honrar cada parceiro. As dívidas do São Paulo serão pagas. Se amanhã eu tiver uma receita que extrapole o meu cotidiano, vamos resolver essa pendência – concluiu o presidente.

Após o registro de um déficit de R$ 126,9 milhões no balanço de 2020, o São Paulo busca melhorar seu quadro financeiro, diminuindo os gastos do clube e procurando quitar as dívidas.

No campo, porém, a situação do São Paulo é excelente. O time vem de oito vitórias consecutivas e acumula grandes atuações. O próximo jogo da equipe é contra o Corinthians, no próximo domingo (2), fora de casa, na Neo Química Arena, pelo Paulistão.
