A gente consegue gastar menos energia.

Everton Could Land Ideal Harrison Partner In 6 Foot 2 Gem

Everton have made four signings during the summer transfer window, and of those, it is perhaps Jack Harrison who could make the biggest impact.

The former Leeds United winger enjoyed an excellent season during 2022/23, despite suffering relegation. The 26-year-old registered 12 goal contributions – five goals and seven assists – in the Premier League.

This led him to rank second across the Leeds squad for goal contributions while also ranking first for big chances created (nine), key passes per game (1.5) and successful dribbles per game (1.3), and there is no doubt he could significantly bolster the stagnant Everton attack.

Sean Dyche may also be close to securing a move for another attacking option – and one that could see Harrison thrive on the wing for the Toffees.

Could Everton sign another player?

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Everton are showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike ahead of the final weeks of the transfer window.

This follows on from Fabrizio Romano stating that the Goodison Park side were looking to secure his services on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, although no fee was mentioned.

Despite signed attack-minded players such as Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma, Dyche has only secured one striker this summer in Youssef Chermiti – and there is no doubt there could be at least one more to arrive at the club.

How good is Hugo Ekitike?

Ekitike is undoubtedly talented, or PSG wouldn’t have signed him from Stade Reims last summer, and at just 21 years old, the future is extremely bright.

The 6 foot 2 gem netted 11 goals and grabbed four assists for Reims during the 2021/22 season, which led to the French giants moving for him, and although he scored just three goals across all competitions, playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will have been a crucial learning experience.

hugo-ekitike-everton-transfer-news-opinion-premier-league

By moving to Everton, not only will he get more opportunities in the starting XI, but he could get Harrison flying on the wing – while the Frenchman could benefit enormously himself.

The PSG gem has been lauded as having “bags of talent” by journalist Lee Davey, while his former manager at Reims, Oscar Garcia, even hailed the youngster as “special”.

Judging by his meteoric rise to playing for one of the biggest teams on the continent, that praise is certainly justified.

Harrison has registered 28 assists across the previous four seasons, and given how impressive Ekitike can be in front of goal, he will be aiming to improve on his total of seven from last term.

It could be a match made in heaven, and given just how poor the club have been in terms of scoring goals during the last two campaigns – netting 34 last term and 43 the year before, it’s evident that in order to avoid yet another relegation battle, Dyche needs players who could change their fortunes in the final third.

Harrison is a solid signing by Dyche, yet by making a concrete move for Ekitike before the transfer window shuts, the former Burnley boss could secure a gamechanger for Everton as they look to enjoy a better season than they did in the previous two.

Rangers could sign dream Lovelace partner in new goal machine

Glasgow Rangers manager Michael Beale has gone through a total revamp of the first-team squad, shipping out players who no longer feature in his plans while adding some exciting new talent in the process.

This gives the 42-year-old a solid platform to work with and despite a mixed start to the season which saw the Ibrox side lose their opening Premiership fixture against Kilmarnock, they have remained undefeated since and stand just one win away from the Champions League group stages.

With the summer transfer window drawing to a close in a few days, could Beale add another player or two?

Are Rangers going to sign anyone else?

The Gers have shown interest in signing another centre-back, with Harry Souttar and Zak Vyner names that have cropped up, and it looks as though this will be the main area Beale will be targeting.

The final few days of the transfer window also seem to throw up the chance of securing a wildcard signing and Beale may just have a surprise up his sleeve.

The Light Blues were linked with a move for Sunderland youngster Tom Watson towards the end of July and while he wouldn’t go straight into the senior setup straight away, there is no doubt he could have the potential to form a key future duo with another talented young gem – Zak Lovelace.

How good is Zak Lovelace?

Giovanni van Bronckhorst signed Lovelace from Millwall in the summer of 2022 and it could turn into a stroke of genius by the former boss.

The youngster made his debut for the Championship side when he was just 15 years of age and had clearly displayed plenty of promise down south.

Rangers boss Michael Beale.

Upon signing, he was thrust right into the B team and enjoyed a stunning campaign, registering 28 goal contributions across 37 games – 18 goals and ten assists – and he proved that not only is he extremely clinical, but his talents stretch to more than just scoring goals.

Having made two first-team appearances for the senior side, his time will come in the next year or so and Watson could certainly follow along a similar path before hopefully forging a partnership with his compatriot.

Who is Sunderland starlet Tom Watson?

The 17-year-old tends to operate either on the left wing or through the middle and has scored 15 goals while grabbing ten assists during his 43 games at U18 and U21 level.

He has also already made his senior debut for Sunderland, which bodes tremendously well for his future.

Indeed, Tony Mowbray gave him a two-minute cameo against Huddersfield Town back in April, and it is clearly a sign of things to come for the future.

Journalist Josh Bunting heaped plenty of praise on Watson back in 2022, saying:

“Tom Watson is a player to keep and eye on, he’s scored for Sunderland 18’s against Leeds this afternoon, that’s three goals in his last four games, makes it stick up top, only 16 so is very much new in 18’s football but has taken it to it like a duck to water, natural finisher.”

Lovelace has already shown his vast promise at the club and having someone like Watson to link up with in the future could only be a big boost for Beale as he aims to build a squad full of talented young gems who could take the senior side by storm in the coming years.

Nabi, Pollard join Renegades after Narine opts out

Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and West Indies’ Kieron Pollard have been signed by Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming BBL season, starting December 19. The allrounders will join Dwayne Bravo as the team’s other overseas recruits.Sunil Narine, Renegades’ leading wicket-taker last season, has withdrawn from the tournament citing personal reasons.Nabi, one of two Afghanistan players to be handed an IPL contract, will join the Renegades squad for their first match against Hobart Hurricanes on December 21. He will be replaced later in the season by Pollard, who is currently playing the BPL. Bravo will be available for the entire BBL season, which ends on February 4.Renegades head coach Andrew McDonald said the timely signing of Narine’s replacements would boost the team, which failed to secure a semi-final berth because of an inferior run-rate last season.”We wish Sunil all the best,” he told melbournerenegades.com.au. “At short notice we are pleased that we’ve been able to secure players of Mohammad and Kieron’s quality who will be important contributors this season for us.”

Australia extend lead despite wobble under lights

England claimed four cheap wickets in the final session after Australia opted not to enforce the follow on but they were still facing a 268-run deficit at the end of day three

The Report by Brydon Coverdale04-Dec-2017
Scorecard and ball-by-ball detailsFirst, the good news for England. They still hold the Ashes. And they had the ball hooping and Australia’s batsmen hopping in a tense final session on the third day. But lest anyone get carried away with this impressive bowling display, led by James Anderson, it is worth remembering that Australia lead by 268 runs, with six wickets in hand. Unless they can roll Australia for under 117, England will need their all-time highest successful Test chase to win this match. This was a day on which England clearly won the final session, reducing Australia to 4 for 53 in their second innings. But it was also a day on which their top scorer was the debutant No. 9, Craig Overton, with an unbeaten 41, and a day when they gave Steven Smith the option of enforcing the follow-on. He chose not to do so, preferring to give his bowlers a rest, but it was an interesting decision to make at the start of the tricky twilight batting period. He must hope that his call will not backfire as Joe Root’s choice at the toss had. Root sent Australia in on a good batting surface, and watched as they batted into their sixth session and declared at 8 for 442. It was this hefty platform that gave Smith the confidence to bat again. By stumps, Smith was one of the four men to have lost his wicket, and Australia had Peter Handscomb at the crease on 3 alongside the nightwatchman Nathan Lyon, on 2.Anderson and Chris Woakes had each picked up two wickets as the ball curled under the Adelaide Oval floodlights. Cameron Bancroft felt at an Anderson outswinger and was caught behind for 4. Usman Khawaja was squared up by an Anderson delivery that nipped away, and was lbw for 20. David Warner edged to slip off Woakes for an uncharacteristically subdued 14 off 60 balls. And Smith was lbw to a Woakes ball that nipped back in for 6.Such a summary can barely capture the intensity of the session. For the first time in the match, Australia were playing for survival. Anderson in particular seemed to have the ball at his mercy, and was a few centimetres from having three wickets himself when Smith was given lbw to an inswinger from around the wicket, that was shown on review to have pitched a hair’s breadth outside the leg stump. But is it too little, too late for England?James Anderson struck twice in a lengthy spell•Getty Images

Never one to mince his words, former England captain Michael Vaughan had said before play that his country needed to win every session today or the Ashes were lost. Within two hours, the word “whitewash” was beginning to cross his mind. That England fought back in the final session could undo the fact that they had collapsed to be all out for 227. Whatever the final prognosis, that alone affected the health of their campaign.Four wickets in the opening session were followed by three in the second, and the innings was wrapped up quickly after the dinner break with two more breakthroughs as Lyon had Stuart Broad caught behind and then trapped Anderson lbw. In doing so, Lyon moved, if temporarily, to the top of Test cricket’s wicket tally for the 2017 calendar year. Like the chimera of Greek myth, Australia’s hybrid GOAT-Lyon creature is in fire-breathing form.England had started the day at 1 for 29, knowing that a solid day of batting might have dragged them back into the contest. Instead, they lost James Vince from the ninth ball of the day when he tried to force Josh Hazlewood off the back foot and edged behind. That left England at 2 for 31, but it also brought together their two best batsmen as captain Joe Root joined his predecessor Alastair Cook at the crease. But in trying to play positively, Root fell for 9 when he drove at a fullish delivery from Pat Cummins and edged to third slip, where Bancroft snapped up the opportunity. Cook too succumbed to a needless stroke when he pushed at an offbreak from Lyon and edged to Smith at slip on 37. Dawid Malan made 19 before he failed to negotiate a sharp delivery from Cummins that nipped back in and bounced, taking his inside edge on the way through to the wicketkeeper Tim Paine.England were 5 for 128 at tea, and although their lower order fought, the damage had been done. Remarkably, all three wickets that came between tea and dinner were caught and bowled, and two of them among the most spectacular examples of the dismissal. Moeen Ali, who had managed 25 off 57 balls, began the trend when he was done by Lyon’s dip, driving uppishly away from the bowler, who dived full-length and plucked the chance in his left hand to leave England at 6 for 132.Not to be outdone, Mitchell Starc threw his right hand out to intercept a well-struck Jonny Bairstow drive, and the ball lobbed up behind Starc, allowing him to complete the catch on the second grab. Near the end of the session, Starc completed the easiest of the trio of return catches when Woakes top-edged an attempted pull and the bowler barely needed to move to collect the skied opportunity.Woakes and Overton had put together a 66-run eighth-wicket stand. Combined with the fine bowling in the last session, it was enough to keep England in the match. But only barely.

Arsenal: Edu Could Now Repeat Alexis Sanchez Blunder At The Emirates

After a positive period of progression under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal could be close to falling into a trap of the past, with the latest reports speculating an unexpected exit for one of the Emirates’ biggest stars.

The Gunners have had a successful summer of business so far, welcoming four talents in various positions as Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar aim to bolster the squad available for the 2023/24 campaign.

While gaining the maximum six points from their opening two fixtures and recruiting well this window has added to the highs, the north Londoners could suffer a blow if recent reports are to be believed.

Who could Arsenal sell this summer?

After bidding farewell to Matt Turner, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Auston Trusty and Pablo Mari, Arteta has offloaded some of the less valued members of the squad, besides Granit Xhaka, who opted for a new challenge in the Bundesliga.

There remains speculation over the future of Folarin Balogun, who is yet to be named in the squad under the manager since pre-season, with the United States international expected to leave north London before the end of the window.

Worrying news emerged on social media this week, as journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan reported via sources of Al Jazeera that representatives of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad Club met with Gabriel Magalhaes in London.

The reporter claimed that talks between them and the Brazilian were ‘proceeding positively’, with questions over his future reinforced by him starting on the bench against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, LaLiga giants Real Madrid are also keen to sign Gabriel, in a bid to solve their defensive injury crisis, so he's clearly a man in demand heading into the final two weeks of the transfer window.

How important is Gabriel Magalhaes to Arsenal?

Last campaign, the £100k-per-week centre-back featured in all 38 of the Gunners’ Premier League fixtures, contributing to 14 clean sheets and being a reliable figure in central defence alongside William Saliba.

Following the Frenchman’s injury, the 25-year-old remained consistent and commanding, proving to be one of the most integral players in Arteta’s squad.

Despite speculation being cooled by the Spaniard, the potential of losing Gabriel could be a repeat of former sales that have shocked the club in the past, not as much of a blow in recent times as Alexis Sanchez.

gabriel-magalhaes-william-saliba-arsenal-ben-white-james-sweet

The Chilean registered 125 goals and assists in 166 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 80 and assisting 45, prevailing as one of the best players of the Emirates era.

Despite holding such importance in the squad at the time, the winger was sold to Manchester United in 2018, leaving Arsenal without an explosive figure that was destined for greatness at the club.

Selling a player as crucial as Gabriel, who has been dubbed a “monster” by journalist Jason Soutar, could replicate the despondency caused by the sale of Sanchez, who had a similar status in north London.

The 25-year-old’s influence on the defence and his ability to mould into the defender that Arteta desired in his set-up is evident through his numbers, with him being a competent ball player and anchor in the back line.

As per FBref, last season the Brazilian maintained an average pass completion rate of 89.4%, while making an average of 4.04 progressive passes per 90 and winning 63% of his total duels per game, to showcase the complete nature of his role.

Edu could, therefore, sanction a nightmare should the former Lille titan depart north London for the lucrative lights of the Saudi Pro League or the prestige of the Santiago Bernabeu.

It would be a piece of business that could take those associated with the club back to the lows of the Sanchez departure.

Técnico semifinalista do Gauchão recebe sondagens do mercado
